Sea glass is a wonderful treasure! It starts out as refused glass that has been tossed into the ocean. As the glass breaks apart by force or against rocks the small pieces of glass get smoothed by the sand and sea. Over time with the wear and tear of the ocean the edges of the glass get soft. Sometimes a piece of glass can be in the ocean for 50 to 100 years before it is washed up on shore!

Yes! All of the sea glass used by Lita Sea Glass Jewelry is genuine and is used just as it was found washed onto the shore. We are dedicated to working only with natural found sea glass (beach glass).

Much of the sea glass we use has been handpicked by members of our team and family (be sure to check out pictures of our sea glass trips on the "a look behind the jewelry" page!). We also purchase from professional sea glass collectors in order to gain access to very rare colors not commonly found in New England.

All of the jewelry is priced based on the amount of silver used; by the gram weight, the rarity of the sea glass and the time it takes to make the finished product. We only use fine materials such as solid sterling silver, 14k gold, 14k gold filled, white gold and platinum, along with semi-precious stones and jewelry-quality sea glass.

The difference in cost associated with color is associated with its rarity. Please refer to our About Sea Glass page for more information.

Yes, but there are risks and limitations. Band style, engravings and other factors can reduce our ability to re-size while still maintaining the integrity of the product.

Yes. While shopping our website, you will be able to choose the size you would like by using the drop down menu upon viewing a product. In some cases, it is possible to just purchase just the pendant and later select a chain. If you have already purchased an item that needs adjusting, please contact us.

Our website is our online sea glass jewelry boutique. We also sell to over 40 retail locations. To shop our jewelry in person, please visit one of the shops listed in our store locator.
